You can complete the basic internship either before your studies or during the semester break. During a period of at least 6 weeks you will get to know the working procedures and the organisational and social processes in companies. It is also possible to divide the basic internship into two different companies, each lasting 3 weeks.

Through the internship, you will ideally gain insights into the basic work processes, production of connections, surface treatment and production of components or assemblies. If you are studying biomedical technology, you can also gain basic knowledge about the activities and functions of the health care system and medical technology departments in hospitals during the basic internship.

In order to receive credit for your internship, you must write a short report (one page per week) at the end of the internship and submit it to the examination office together with your internship certificate.
